Leading by Example
July 23, 2017 05:13 AM PDT
Early in life we learn "follow the leader" as a childhood game. Then we learn Simon Says as another game. Little do we realize that we are leading by example when it comes to spirit, religion and God. We are in the leadership role when it comes to demonstrating what it means to be a believer. What does your leadership look like?
Psalm 86:11-17On Anger
July 16, 2017 05:00 AM PDT
When you get angry with someone, where is the impact? What is the point? Who is affected by your anger? What is resolved?
This is an interesting story about how anger could work.
Ephesians 4:25-31Why Did I Do That?
July 09, 2017 05:48 AM PDT
Have you ever made a questionable move? Have you ever wondered about why you performed a certain act especially after bad results? Then you find yourself asking 'why did I do that?'
Perhaps we have learned how to deceive ourselves to the point where we don't know lies as we are dealing them out. Perhaps we have become really good at self deception and wondering why?
Take a little time to reflect on the opportunity to see how to become free of this subtle drain on your power.
Romans 7:15-25Living in the Freedom of God
July 02, 2017 05:07 AM PDT
Are we really free? Do we know what freedom is all about? What do we have to show for our declared freedom?
Romans 6:12-23We Judge, We Judge, We Judge
June 25, 2017 05:20 AM PDT
Do you realize how judgmental we are? We are always judging and assessing everything and everybody. There is a price to pay for this way of thinking and there is also a way out.
Matthew 7:1-6, 7:12Like Sheep without a Shepherd
June 18, 2017 04:59 AM PDT
Sadly, harassment and helplessness is becoming more common. Globally we are seeing people operate like 'sheep without a shepherd.'
Matthew 9:35-38 & 10:1-4Willful Neglect
June 11, 2017 05:00 AM PDT
What happens when you know what a partner or a loved one likes or wants and you knowingly withhold that gesture? How is your love conveyed?
We may say we love but often our actions say something else.
Consider giving up willful neglect and look at what that would provide. It may be exactly what God wants for us all.
2 Corinthian 13:11-13Just Do It
June 04, 2017 05:00 AM PDT
When folks are grieving after suffering a loss or under stress, what do you say? All to often, we find that we may be at a loss of words in those situations. What can we say that would make a difference? In times like these we may say to a person suffering a loss, 'call if I can help,' or 'what can I do?' Their response is usually thank you, or I'll let you know. Generally nothing happens after that.
Coming from one spirit, the same Spirit, we need only act from that Spirit to make a difference and to provide comfort for them. Sometimes being a friend means just sitting there silently holding a hand.
Just like the Nike tag line - Just Do It.
1 Corinthians 12:3-13Glorify the Father
May 28, 2017 05:00 AM PDT
The prayer that Jesus recited right before he ascended into heaven is cited in John 17:1-11. It is a prayer in which acknowledges that his mission is complete and that he has done all that God has asked of him. In that prayer, he states that all he was able to do was because of his connection to God. All that he has touched was God's and that God's message was left with all whom he had touched.
John 17:1-11 and John 14:10The Peace of the World
May 21, 2017 04:59 AM PDT
There is a difference between the peace we talk about in the world and the peace of God. If we were to actually present God's peace in the world it would most definitely be a different place. Consider BEING God's peace in the world.
Regardless of your faith tradition, we speak to the higher self in each of us. Take what serves you from these messages for inspiration and encouragement. We can all use a bit of that.
