Wake Up

There are so many wonderful conveniences in life that give us so much more free time. But what do we do with this free time? How are we using this new found freedom?
We may be living our lives on a type of "autopilot" where we get up, go to work, come home, go to bed, only to do it all over again the next day. How about our time to reflect, connect with others and share our God given gifts? How do we wake up to the lives that God has designed for us?

It is time to wake up.

God bless,
Rev Leon

May The Eyes of Your Heart be Enlightened

Do you have friends? Are some friends closer to you than others? Are there some friends who are close to being written off? Are you better at keeping people out than you are at letting people in? Perhaps your heart needs an eye exam.

Led by Spirit

What does it look like to be led by Spirit? How do you know that spirit is leading and not your ego? Would you agree to be 'led by spirit' if you knew there would be trouble ahead?

Consider, all challenges are infused with the presence of Spirit designed for your good.

God bless,
Rev Leon

On Prosperity

What is true prosperity? We are really more prosperous than we realize and perhaps in looking at how prosperous we are we measure the wrong things.

If abundance were actually a measure of your relationships, how wealthy are you?

Love Your Enemy

How easy is it to love your enemy? Not easy at all. Just by virtue of the fact that they are 'enemy' imposes a need to render them other, different or simply hostile. And yet the scripture prescribes that we are to love our enemy.
Here are a few reflections to consider how to do that.
Peace,
Rev Leon

How Does Your Garden Grow?

What is your favorite source for the weather? How do you plan your day based upon the weather forecast? What does the weather mean in terms of your garden? How do you manage the growth in your garden?

These questions apply to your spiritual garden as well. There is care required to nurture and tend to your spiritual garden to assure your spiritual growth. Tend to your spiritual garden.

It Begins With Me

"Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me..."

If you are the beginning of peace, what does that look like in your life and in your communities? Where can we see the work of peace in action? How can we measure the progress and ground taken by your steps?

Too often we gauge our positions based upon those who may be below. If others are not what I am then they are less which makes me better. We need to get over that way of thinking and on to the work of healing our communities. Not only our local communities but our global community as well. That is what God has charged us with and that is our calling.

Rev Leon

We Are All "Other"

There was an advertising promotion line from years ago that said, "membership has it's privileges." Sadly that sentiment is alive and well and socially we are trying to figure out what it takes to be a member of the proper club in order to enjoy the privileges. We don't like to admit that a driving force in this culture is about privilege. At the end of the day, making others less than is not a means for personal elevation, it just makes the other less than. We are so much better than that.

The Fallacy of Freedom

What is freedom and are we really free?
Given the recent free election that had the inauguration surrounded with countless demonstrations, it leaves one questioning what does freedom look like if this is the result. Is it freedom when the result is so much discontent? We may be operating from the wrong context of what freedom is all about.

Freedom is designed by God to serve everyone. Everyone wins with God's definition of freedom. Perhaps that is what is missing in our current events.
